We, at North Deering Congregational Church, worship together as we grow in the knowledge of God and our vision of God's will for us. We provide a blended worship service with Gospel, contemporary, and traditional music. Our worship services are Biblically grounded where the Lord's teachings are clear, concise, easily understood and uplifting as we embrace the never ending grace and love that God has for us.

Comments from a first-time visitor: "...You have a beautiful church and it feels so warm and welcoming to be there...I'd love to come back again."

Comments from a first-time visitor on 10/11/15: "...I have never before felt the amount of love you showed my family last Sunday. Your kindness was genuine and your generosity of spirit was so present in the room, it was clear that you were happy to be there...happy to be together. It was the first time I had felt God and love so eminently present in a room of worshipers."

This Is the Day…

By Pastor Mike

3-29-20

Rhonda and I got engaged in the month of March 1987.  It’s been 33 years for this blessed couple!  During our time of betrothal, we went to her home church in Woodland Maine in Washington County.  Rhonda’s home church was the Woodland Full Gospel Pentecostal Church.  Being a relatively new Christian, I didn’t know much about church singing.  The only singing that I did up to that point was in the bathtub and the only song I knew was Ernie’s song from Sesame Street “rubber ducky.”

Every time, we gathered to worship in Woodland, we would always begin by singing…

This is the Day, this is the day

That the Lord has made

That the Lord has made…

I know that you’ve heard it before.  I sang it so much that it never quite impacted me until now.

As I sit here meditating on this wonderful Sunday morning on the eve of Palm Sunday, I am reminded that this is the day that our wonderful God has created.  We are called to live for today and not fret over what tomorrow may bring.  We can rest assured that our God holds all of our tomorrows in the center of His hand.

Shalom my friends…

Prayer Shawls For Those In Need

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ...the God of all consolation who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we oursleves are consoled by God." (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

The North Deering Congregational Church embraces The Prayer Shawl Ministry as a way to extend the  grace and love of Christ to others. Because prayer is the most important aspect of this ministry - prayers are weaved throughout the shawl while knitting or crocheting and blessed before giving them to the person who will receive the shawl. Bible verses are also attached to each prayer shawl.

All are welcome to participate!
